The “I International Seminar on Fostering Innovation – Reforming the Law of Good and Other Issues“, organized by CEST in partnership with FGV Projetos, Brasscom (Brazilian Association of Information Technology and Communication Companies), Anpei (National Association for Research and Development of Innovative Companies) and CNI (National Industry Confederation), is part of the SP Tech Week 2018 agenda.

Currently, in its fourth edition, SP Tech Week is an event organized by the São Paulo City Hall about innovation and technology that takes place in various places in the city. The event will have more than 200 different activities and, according to estimates by the São Paulo City Hall, it is expected that at least 50 thousand people attend activities that will include lectures, seminars, workshops, business rounds and foreign delegation visits to meet local startups.

The CEST seminar aims to discuss the relevance of fiscal incentives to foster innovation and national technological development to improve Brazil’s position in the global value chain. Thematic blocks will be propositional and will allow lecturers not only to bring practical insights into the difficulties of using the incentive but also to present potential alternatives capable of making the Law of Good an efficient tool to stimulate investments in R & D by Brazilian companies in general.
