What is Games for Change Latin America?

The first Latin American network to research, innovate and enhance the relationship between games, learning and social transformation. The objective it to promote the research, creation, application and dissemination of digital games that positively transform society, education, the economy, the environment and culture.

Founded in 2004 in the US, the Games For Change became a nonprofit organization of reference on the games with the potential for positive social impact. The Latin American connection of this global network started in 2011 by agreement with the research group, culture and extension Knowledge City of University of São Paulo in partnership with Volkswagen Foundation, AMD Foundation and the European consortium PRO-IDEAL (FP7).

Under the direction of Gilson Schwartz, professor in the Department of Film, Radio and TV ECA-USP, leader of the City of Knowledge and Colaborator Professor at the Society and Technology Study Center (CEST), the Games for Change Latin America promotes a cycle since annual events, contests and projects that promote convergence between playfulness, education, technology, sustainability, entrepreneurship and social transformation.
