Maristela Basso

Maristela Basso is an Associate professor of International Law at the Faculty of Law (Largo São Francisco) of Universidade de São Paulo, where she teaches Private International Law, International Trade Law and International Contracts Law in the undergraduate course. She is responsible for the subject Fundaments of the International Law of Intellectual Property in the graduate studies (Master’s and Doctorate); Counselor Basso is also a Professor/Tutor of the World Academy of the Intellectual Property World Organization, in Geneva; a major member of the Inter-American Bar Association, The American Society of International Law, the Luso-Brazilian Institute of Compared Law, and the International Law Association. Professor Basso is a referred name in the Who’s Who in the World, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012; in the Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century, 2008 and 2009; in the Great Lives on the 21st Century, 2008; and in the Cambridge Blue Book, 2008/09. She was awarded the Golden Medal 2010 – Passion, Courage, Commitment, Success, Excellence, Virtue, and Spirit by the American Biographical Institute. In 2011, she was nominated in the Who’s Who Legal, international publication: The first of Brazil’s leading practitioners in the field of Patents Intellectual Property.
