Qualified doctoral engineer with a proven track record in curriculum development, teaching, and research in internet of things, complex networks and engineering education. He is head of the Laboratory of Innovation in IoT (partnership with Telefonica/Vivo) and he is also head of CyberSecurity laboratory (partnership with Brazilian Federal Prosecution Service – Sao Paulo). His research areas is security and privacy in internet of things, system engineering, complex networks and education technologies. He has several years on international development engineering projects in EU-IST frameworks 6, 7 and Horizon 2020. He has successfully secured two research projects running with funds over 1M euros from: RNP (representing European Commission in Brazil) from Telefonica Vivo Brazil and from Royal Academy of Engineering (UK).
