Currently, he is Titular Professor at Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos da Universidade de São Paulo (1974), a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos da Universidade de São Paulo (1983), a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (1987) and a Full Professor in Control and Automation from Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (1997). He has 101 articles indexed in the Web of Science’s main collection, has advised 23 masters, 24 doctorates and 9 postdoctoral students. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Control, Automation and Electrical Systems (Springer). He is president of the Superior Council of the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute (IPEN) and member of the National Academy of Engineering. Has experience in the areas of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, with emphasis on General Theory of Electrical Circuits.
